Dr. Brian P. Harris is Director of Bands at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Prior to joining the MCC faculty, he taught public school band in Alabama and was Associate Professor of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio for nine years. He holds the Ph.D. in Music Education from the Florida State University, the Master of Music Education from Louisiana State University, and the Bachelor of Music from Samford University.

At MCC, he conducts the Wind Symphony, the Waco Area Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Waco Community Band. He is author of the Warner Brothers method book Directional Warm-Ups for Band and is a featured contributor to the Texas Bandmasters Association Journal. He has published and presented clinics and research at state and national levels and remains active as an adjudicator, clinician, and composer. He also serves as Past President of the Texas Community College Band Directors Association.
