WAYWE General Information

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Waco Area Youth Wind Ensemble (WAYWE) provides the opportunity for advanced and dedicated young musicians to participate in a high-caliber performing ensemble. Each member is selected based on playing ability and the instrumentation needs of the group. As an honor band, membership is composed of the finest players in the Waco area.

Membership in WAYWE is by audition.
Participation in WAYWE is generally open to students in grades 9 through 12.
There is NO FEE for participation in WAYWE.
Except for the percussion section, players must provide their own instruments.
Players must sign and return the Musician's Agreement.
In order to produce the best possible performance, attendance at all rehearsals is required.

Students who miss any rehearsals may be requested to not perform for that concert.

WAYWE is sponsored by the Visual/Performing Arts Department, McLennan Community College.
Rehearsal locations alternate between McLennan Community College (MCC) and Baylor University.

Rehearsals at MCC are in the Ball Performing Arts Center (BPAC).
Rehearsals at Baylor are in the McCrary Music Building.
