AUDITIONS

ALL woodwinds, brass, and percussion players will audition
on Sunday, August 28, 2011 in Room 114 in the McCrary
Music Building on the Baylor University campus. (FYI, "Jones Hall" is located inside the McCrary Music Building)

Membership in WAYWE is granted on a one-year/one-season
basis. Last year's members must re-audition.

Everyone must play the required
audition material which is posted on this website.

You are encouraged (but not required) to bring an additional
work to perform during your audition.

You will play this optional piece after playing the required
audition music.
-
This piece should show off your strengths as a musician.
-
Please limit the selection to no more than 2 minutes of music.

It is not necessary to bring copies of this music for the
judges.
-
Accompaniment is not needed.
-
There will be no sight reading required for this audition.

Please arrive at the registration table at least 15 minutes before your instrument is scheduled. Turn in
your signed Musician's Agreement at this
time.

Individual times are not assigned and you do not need to
call to secure an audition.
| Audition Times begin as follows:
2:00 pm - Flutes/Piccolo
2:15 pm - Clarinets
2:30 pm - Oboes, Bassoons, Saxophones, Low Reeds
2:45 pm - Trumpets, Horns
3:00 pm - Trombones, Euphonium, Tubas
3:15 pm - Percussion

Results will be posted on this website by 8pm on the Wednesday following the audition. Chairs/Seating will not be determined until later. NOTE: Result letters will NOT be mailed. You must check
this website.

Rehearsals will begin Sunday,
September 18.

Music will be distributed at the first rehearsal.
- Musicians selected for membership in WAYWE are fully scholarshipped by MCC and do not need to pay any participation fees.

Attendance at all rehearsals and concerts is required. Please
review details in the Musician's Agreement regarding how absences are handled.
- Members must have and use a valid email address.

Musicians not selected for membership will be placed on a
ranked "Call List" and contacted if an opening should occur during the
year.

is committed to providing performance opportunities for serious and dedicated
musicians only. Participation in WAYWE is not encouraged for players
who do not practice outside of rehearsal or who miss rehearsals/concerts.
